about

The Little Lord Street Band (2016 WAM Best Folk Act Nominees) released their Nashville recorded second EP ‘Walk with Me’ fresh from the U.S. last year in 2016.

Recorded at The Bomb Shelter (Alabama Shakes, Benjamin Booker) in June 2016 and employing the “friends from home (but now living in Nashville)” strategy, with Bex Chilcott (Ruby Boots) on backing vocals, Ryan Brewer (ex Joe Kings) on organ, percussion and Matt Wigton (New York touring artist and producer) on bass, this four track EP was created in four days with Nate Nelson (White Violet) behind the mixing desk.

The songs are a ‘his and hers’ mix match from James Rogers and Natasha Shanks partaking in the song writing and song material. If you think ‘mix tape in the 90’s - you give to someone you want to say something to, this is the result.

The devotion behind the song, melodies and guitar riffs complement’s the very talent and diversity of James Rogers and his ability to embed songs to every band and genre he has ever played in. Natasha’s vocals showcase a songster throwing herself into the very tone of the record, with elements of light and shade that is both hardened yet sweet. The EP tells stories of a lover’s feud in “Walk with Me” to the despair and lonesomeness of asylum in “Desolation Road”, the hum drum of the everyday merry go round of work on “Aching and Waiting” and the trials and tribulations of trying to be a musician in the re-recorded track “What a Year”.
